If you have issues with choppy sound or that the audio is lost during calls over USB you need to check that you have the latest drivers on your laptop.

Please look for latest Realtek High Definition Audio Driver for your laptop model (common for Dell Latitude) and the latest Intel Smart Sound drivers.

In some cases you also need to disable Intel Management Engine (ME). To do this add the following entry in your computers registry. After you have added the registry entry you must reboot your computer.

Add a DWORD namned PG_DISABLED with a value of 1.

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MEIx64\Parameters

You can also download the patch attached in this article and run it. It will automatically add this parameter.

The issue is related to compatibility problems (general for all USB audio products) with the Intel Smart Sound for USB audio driver in Windows. Usually this is solved if you disable Intel Smart Sound completely.
